Bubolini Inspired by Spirituality and the Mystical Bulgarian Traditions

Behind the cheerful name and fascinating designs of Bubolini shines the talented Gergana.

Her artistic journey began at an early childhood age when a nursery teacher noticed Geri’s gift for art.

Following her artistic route, Geri graduated from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria with a degree in Music Pedagogy. While studying she began crafting various accessories for her friends and family, including keyholders, jewelry and phone decorations. A happy “customer” pointed out she has golden hands and should be using them in starting a business.

This is how Bubolini was born.

In May this year, Bubolini won the jury award for Arts and Crafts Business of the Year in the Bulgarian Business Awards in London. The panel was impressed with the quality and fascinating design of Bubolini’s jewelly and congratulated Gergana on her work to preserve and popularise Bulgarian culture around the world.

Geri passionately preserves and spreds the teachings of the Shevitsa through her pieces. She makes bespoke, handmade earrings, bracelets, necklaces and other jewellery pieces. Her designs capture the attention and hearts of many people from various national and ethnic backgrounds.

Behind Bubolini stands Gergana Sirkarova.

‘’ I love the Bulgarian Shevitsas, their beauty, power and magic. For me it is a privilege to be able to continue those ancient traditions and spread the knowledge of a unique spiritual communication system. Being an artist, I like putting a modern touch to the symbols, while preserving their authenticity. This is my heritage, my culture, my roots. Bulgarian Shevitsa is so beautiful and magical that the whole world needs to know about it. It is a symbol that will live forever.”
